Red Hornets failed

But if only five of numerous spies serving imprisonment in American prisons are considered heroes, we owe it to Fidel Castro. For the old caudillo, are only heroes those who admire him. The rest, nor were revolutionary and much less honest, for example, combatants who fought to overthrow the former dictatorship, as the Commander Eloy Gutiérrez Menoyo. So said a few days ago. On the other hand yes they are heroes Gerardo, Antonio, René, Ramón and Fernando.

 His lack of skill, bad smell and the little sixth sense, led to defeat. Such was its inefficiency, that for three years the Federal Bureau of Investigation of United States (FBI) followed them in the footsteps to the twelve Hornets, morning, afternoon and evening for three years. They were discovered by spying on American territory and try on military installations of the army and air force in that country. The group, directed from Havana by the Directorate of Intelligence (DGI) of the Ministry of Interior of Cuba, was called the WaSP network.

They were arrested in September 1998. At that time, spread the news in the international press, while in Cuba, nothing was said. I wanted to hide the fact that the Castro regime had not only failed the Network, but the whole Cuban intelligence.

It was a blow to the island's old dictator, who used to over the years to convert the setback into a victory, then began to call heroes to five of the twelve who had remained reluctant to plead guilty. The rest, who collaborated with the court for minor penalties, were traitors to the homeland and two that were most able, fled to Cuba, where nothing is known about them.

The Cuban population met the news in June 2001, three years later, when the trial of the WaSP network had already concluded. From that moment, Fidel Castro has invested a good amount, still unknown and from the  people's money, not in order to secure the release of the five, converted into victims of the Castroism, but to continue with his anti-American war. He knows that it is impossible that a Court of United States is manipulated by the Government, a country with a rule of law, whereby the political powers are subject to the rule of law. Waste time with useless and tiresome campaign and wanting to make a jury of five million.

Nothing was said in the Castro press, e.g. when Gerardo Hernández recently employed a ruse to escape his imprisonment, stating that really the brothers to the rescue planes had been ground in international waters.

Those who have studied the history of Cuban political prison knowthe courage of Mario Chanes de Armas, Hubert Matos, ErnestoDiaz Rodriguez and many others, trying to survive in inhumaneprisons, which came out alive by a miracle, just to oppose Fidel communism.

There might be a heroine in this large group of hornets discovered. This is Ms. Ana Belen Montes, who demanded death penalty for spying for Cuba for over fifteen years as an analyst in the Pentagon. But Ana Belen repented and collaborated  with the court. Its double punishment is being ignored by her Cuban leader.

On July 28, 2010, Fidel Castro expressed on the five spies, told a group of Cuban intellectuals: ¨ And they'll have to let go and ... Long before the end of the year ... I take responsibility to tell the relatives of the five ¨.

What happened to that prophecy? Why fails both Fidel Castro?
