Declaration of the Movement of Racial Integration Juan Gualberto Gómez (MIR)

The commitment of the Movement of Racial Integration Juan Gualberto Gómez, in the fight against the racism and the social exclusion, is not more than the historical continuity of the yearning martiano, of building a homeland that above the differences for the color of the skin and ideological positions, contribute to the annihilation of this shameful national stigma and for the one that you/they have fought so much black as white of good will and patriotism that alone they yearned the racial and social justness of the nation.

This fight has not been easy. Since in May of the 2000 and in having felt homage to the massacre of the Independent ones of Color in 1912, a group of Cuban of all the races founded this Movement, the incessant pursuits and threats on the part of the régime he/she has not given him a minute of serenity and each member runs the risk of being imprisoned to claim his rights as citizens.

Many of us have felt the racism in flesh and blood. Many of us have been expelled in arbitrary way of our labor and private centers of the so necessary economic sustenance to oppose us from a colateral way to the discrimination and partisan xenophobia of those that at this time show the reins of the totalitarian power in Cuba.

Nevertheless, and above fears, imprisonments and threats, today we feel proud and we can say that we are here that have carried out an independent Congress to debate in a peaceful way this problem and whose seventeen approved agreements were given with civic representation in the corresponding instance.

It doesn't care if they were engavetados, it doesn't care if they give him or non pursuit to that outlined consciously and putting into our practice right of civic diplomacy. We know that this régime impedes and it always blocks all that doesn't agree to its political interests, and in desfachatada violation to the civic rights. But we feel proud, lively and willing to continue giving the battle for our rights of free men, our rights as Cuban and I don't eat mere pack of slaves salaried, sultry category to which has taken us a facto régime whose populational sympathy decays to song.

You attended us the right and the reason, you attended us the morals and the historical legacy of knowing us it bases fundamental in the emergence of the national conformation and their culture, the one which anything or very little it would be without the African component that sustains it and of the one that is constantly nurtured.

Any government neither political consortium will be able to tunnel our will of bequeathing to the new generations of Cubans a truly inclusive homeland and martiana, where the color of the skin is not more than a mere genetic accident, without it implies it a social accident for the right of the opportunities, and where all, black white and mestizo, women and men, we can cohabit and retroalimentarnos mutually without differences neither social exclusions. And that only the talent, the will and the longings of personal realization mark the difference.

We claim of the government freedom to advance without obstacle in this fight, of the one that, of being a fair government it would feel proud that men and women without political filiation neither partisan commitment some, have had the anger of summoning peacefully to the official institutions, and that a mass anything worthless of Cuban and Cubans are receiving of our call, of which many of them have requested their membrecía in our Movement and other they encourage us to continue ahead.

We claim of the government via free to take a National Crusade ahead against the Racism and the exclusion in Cuba, proposal that it already counts with numerous sympathetic at level national and several dozens of activist enthusiasts at international level, what we can demonstrate without any problem.

¡Make you justice and we will win all!

Movement of Racial Integration Juan Gualberto Gómez.
