THE BEST PRESIDENT FOR CUBA

 BY Hildebrand Chaviano MONTES

El Vedado, La Habana, What good news was published in the latest "reflection" of Fidel Castro about the nano cable. Of course, if we the Cubans had access to the Internet we would had learned at the same time that he did, and he would have avoided the trouble to tell us what the rest of the world has a right to know, without the mediation of a former vacant president.

But ultimately, the news comes with a postscript addressed to the obsession of his life: the U.S. president. And here comes the good, because if the said invention had advanced and futuristic robot existed, perhaps in Cuba the land would not be infested of marabou, sugar would not be imported, beans or salt, the sugar harvest would not asset only a million tons, Cuban children would take milk after seven years old, the sugar mills would not have been reduced to 40, there would not be more than two million Cubans living abroad, or the political prisoners that have passed through our prisons, the shots and the drowns in the Straits of Florida would not add many thousands, and thousands would not be killed in the guerrilla wars in Africa or Latin America. This robot, of course, would not have brought the world to the brink of nuclear war in 1962 with an attitude mixture of braggart neightborhood and servility suicide pro-Soviet.

If we had the good fortune of being ruled by a robot-Cuban President, we would have got rid of over half a century of  criminals experiments, hunger, repression, killings and inept rulers. I, for sure, vote for the robot.
