One of the most unknown ephemeris of the Cuban calendar is undoubtedly the abortive conspiracy of August 30, 1962. His subsequent repression accumulated some 300 executions, including that of Ricardo Olmedo, one of the survivors of the assaulton the Presidential Palace on 13 March 1957.

Even in my case, history graduate knew nothing about it until one day I work in the archive of the cemetery Christopher Columbus discovered that in September 1962 the number of burials shot was fired. A rather higher figure than -for example- of those killed on the eve and subsequent days of the Bay of Pigs Invasion.

Executions thinly disguised in the books of interments euphemistically "TRAUMATIC SHOCK / INTERNAL BLEEDING".

It was in exile that through the testimonies of some of its participants I have been able to take an idea from one of the larger conspiracies of Cuban history and one of its most brutal repressions.

"On August 30, 1962 was a fateful day for the Cuban nation. Several organizations led by the Anti - Communist Front of Liberation led by Evelio Francisco Perez Menendez, known as Frank, and Jesus Faraldo proposed plan for a popular uprising in Havana and other parts of the island to which they contacted members of the Navy, police and some regiments. Among the organizations that took part in this attempt Movement November 30, Revolutionary Unity, the Montecristi Movement, were the MRR by Hector Fabian, and several others. But the action did not materialize because the government managed to infiltrate and operation aborted. About 400 people were arrested and more than 300 were shot in what is known as the Slaughter of August 30. Evelio Francisco was shot on September 21, 1962.

I will dwell a bit on the November 30 Movement, by knowing more than the others because I am a member of it since its founding in 1960. Among the members of the 30 who took part in the putsch of August 30, 1962 were Juan Carlos Tony Montes de Oca and Pons, of the Military Section, Manuel Fernández Granda, National Coordinator of the Labor Sector, and some others whose names I forget. When that I was a prisoner in the Isle of Pines. Among those killed are 30 Juan Carlos Montes de Oca, Luis Sanchez and Jesus Carpente Sierra.
